DSDM TimeBoxing with MindManager®

Agile Project Management allows you to manage projects without the rigidity of traditional methods and puts more control and decision making in the hands of the people carrying out the project tasks. With traditional project management methods, the target date of the project usually slips and becomes delayed due to changes within the project scope or project circumstances. By using the MoSCoW, (Must, Should, Could and Won’t), method of prioritising project requirements, the project scope can be amended to cater for changing circumstances as the project progresses.

This way of managing and prioritising project requirements means that by dropping/re-scheduling requirements, project deadlines/delivery dates are met with more success. It also enables project teams to work on project requirements in a more flexible way, moving from requirement to requirement depending on available resources at any given time, rather than the more traditional, linear method where usually one requirement follows on from another.

The DSDM, (Dynamic Systems Development Method), has a pedigree in Software Development Projects but is rapidly becoming more and more popular for the management of either part or all of projects that are more traditional. A new version of the method, called DSDM Atern, mixes the already established control methods of PRINCE2 with Agile methods to create a new unique way to manage and deliver project success. The DSDM TimeBoxing with MindManager add-in allows users to start creating TimeBox “tagged/marked-up” map.

The DSDM TimeBoxing Add-in for MindManager is FREE and is available for MindManager Pro 7 and MindManager 8.
