MindManager Apps!
The latest, game changing functionality, built on App Studio Technology, ships directly with MindManager 2024

MindManager Apps
The release of MindManager 2024 brings with it some exciting, new functionality in the shape of MindManager Apps!
MindManager Apps is built on the App Studio Technology, developed by Nick Duffill of Harport Consulting, which has been available for almost two years for previous versions of MindManager for Windows and the App Studio technology has now been directly integrated into the latest release of MindManager.
You can access the new MindManager Apps using the menu command located within the Advanced Ribbon in MindManager 2024 as shown below.
This means that any MindManager 2024 user can download and install App Sharing Maps created with either App Studio or MindManager Apps from App Developers such as Harport Consulting, Olympic and others.
Users can also customise their own MindManager interface with a Personal Developer, Corporate Developer or Consultant licence for their own use or to create apps for use within their own organisation.
Users with a Consultant Developer licence are able to create App Sharing Maps that can be used by ANY MindManager 2024 user or any MindManager for Windows user with the free App Studio add-in installed.
App Studio reduces the cost of tailoring MindManager for business issues, turning it from a generic information management tool into something that solves your specific business challenges. App Studio makes it practical to make customised solutions that would have otherwise been prohibitive on cost grounds.
Basically an “App” is a collection of templates, images, documents, and new features that helps you to apply MindManager to a specific business purpose.
For example, an App might support your in-house project methodology by providing interactive templates and map parts, and helping you to follow in-house project management processes.
The primary goal of MindManager Apps is to reduce the cost of tailoring MindManager for business solutions by 80%.
Many parts of a custom business solution may not even need any coding, just configuration. MindManager Apps makes it cost-effective for a MindManager expert to create easy-to-use business solutions and share them with their colleagues or clients.
MindManager Apps is a “Pareto Principle” solution – it aims to provide 80% of the value for 20% of the cost. Although there are still a few applications that would need a specialist add-in, many business solutions can be brought to life with configuration and simple macros.
End-users of Apps don’t need a licence key for MindManager Apps.
Developers provide “MindManager App Sharing Maps” for you to install, adding features and functions to MindManager. You don’t need to do anything other than install and use these Apps.
App developers, however, require a licence key to create MindManager Apps Sharing Maps.
The speed with which customisation can be changed and delivered means that MindManager Apps enables the use of Agile principles when developing business solutions. End-user feedback can be quickly incorporated and small improvements made at low cost. Minor changes can be implemented and delivered in a couple of hours rather than being put in the queue for the next release of an Add-in.
No software development environment or installer packaging is required to create and share MindManager Apps.
The images above are of the Knowledge Base App created by Harport Consulting. You can download an install this MindManager Apps Sharing Map from the App Library which can be accessed from the menu on the right hand-side of this page.
